Chiu’s tattoo holds a lot of familial value for him. He, his mother, and his late grandmother are
all the year of the goat. So a year ago, in October of 2012, Kevin had this tattoo done to
remember his grandmother who was so important to him. It is a constant reminder to him of her.
Davis’ tattoo is of a lion over his heart quoting a prayer written by Charles Wesley: “This rebel
heart by love subdue, and make it soft and make it new.” Davis has often prayed this prayer with
the hope that God will continue to change him by His love. The verse which also inspired this
tattoo is Ezekiel 36:26: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove
from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
Zhukovskiy’s tattoo, for the majority of us, needs a translation. His tattoo, written in Russian,
translates to “I am the victory of God.” Nikita’s name means “victory” in Russian. This tattoo is
a reminder to him that God loves and cares for him and that his salvation is a victory for God and
for heaven. This tattoo was a signal of independence for Zhukovskiy.
Scalera had his tattoo done for two reasons: his interest in body art and his desire to share his
belief in Jesus Christ. The tattoo is a Psalm he likes and a lighthouse. When talking about his
experience of getting his tattoo done, he exclaimed that the section on his ribs hurt the worst.
However, sharing his beliefs was worth the pain for him
