Do you enjoy learning? Hearing stories? Getting chapel credit? The Faith in Humanities Conference is coming up! On Feb. 20 and 21, come hear research, short stories, poetry, and creative nonfiction presented by NU students, alumni, and faculty. Dr. Sarah Drivdahl of the psychology department will be delivering the keynote address. Additionally, NUMA is offering chapel credit to any students attending. Don’t miss out on this exciting way to learn more about the topics your professors and fellow students are passionate about! For more information, email Bekah Ueland or Heather Karnes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Enjoyed For Reality?
In January, the Local Missions Team hosted NU’s first annual For Reality event. Students came together and creatively presented illustrations of the injustices taking place in the Seattle area. Seven local nonprofits were represented: the Genesis Project, Olive Tree, Eastside Academy, Care Net, the Salvation Army, Union Gospel Mission, and World Vision. The goal was to show students that they are empowered to reach these people living in our own backyard. To get involved with one of the seven nonprofits or a local missions team contact email@example.com.
Pursuit: a time to draw together as a student body and truly seek Christ as we worship Him. This year’s Pursuit Conference will take place Feb. 10-13 with three services: Monday night, Tuesday night, and Wednesday chapel. Services will include worship, guest speakers, student testimonies, and prayer. Guest speakers include Rich Wilkerson, Jr. and Eddie De La Rosa. This conference is open to the public, so grab your roommate or invite people from your small groups and churches and come join us!
Intramural Basketball Back At It
Intramural basketball is right around the corner. Beginning the first week of February, the intramural program provides an opportunity for both men and women to represent their living areas (dorm floors, apartments, off-campus, and FIRs) on the court. These teams compete, culminating with end-of-the-season playoffs. For those interested in playing basketball at the college level with your peers, join a team and come be a part of this exciting league! Teams will compete late on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. For more information, contact Rec Sports Coordinators Hunter Madich and Andrew Bonesteel.
